At twelve thirty one, post meridiem, wednesday, november twenty-third, year twenty-eleven, Aviva Lazar Hadzimichalis was born in a hospital in New Jersey. Though she arrived ten days late, she did so with unexpected speed and ease. Mom, Dad and Baby Girl are back safe and sound at home once again and all hoping, though not necessarily expecting, to finally get a little rest.
Today I have a new baby cousin. Those of us in her family have the unique privilege of being able to correctly pronounce her beautiful name, Aviva Lazar Hadzimichalis, though her future peers, classmates, and friends (and many of you, reading this post) may sadly be left lacking in this department, resigned to calling her simply “that pretty girl over there.” Three days old and she’s already a model.
Congratulations to Norell, Anthony, and all other Spilers and Hadzimichialises out there, and without any further delay, “That Pretty Girl!”

Evan – you are quite a talented photographer. True, you had an excellent subject to work with – your new cousin Aviva is beautiful – but I think you brought out the best in her. Those pics are amazing!!! I would love to see more – maybe of Aviva with her mom & dad, or maybe your mom and dad with their new great niece.
